Today marks the first day of the 10 days of Dhul Hijjah. Which is the 19th June 2023.
The 9th of Dhul Hijjah (Day of Arafah) will be on 27th June 2023 and 10th of Dhul Hijjah (Eid al Adha) will be on 28th June 2023.
Dhul Hijjah is the 12th month of the Islamic Hijri Calendar and contains many special and virtuous days within it.
It is considered to be one of the four sacred months.
The sanctity of these months is mentioned in the Quran and alluded to by the Prophet ﷺ.
The month of Dhul Hijjah is the season of Hajj, the holy pilgrimage to Makkah, one of the five compulsory pillars of Islam.The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that there are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.
Ibn Abbas reported: The Prophet ﷺ said, “No good deeds are better than what is done in these first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.” [Sahih al Bukhari]
How can we make the most out of these days?
There are many ways where we can do good during the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, some of these are:
- Fasting
- Give charity
- Reciting the Quran
- Dhikr
- Good dead's
The 10 days of Dhul Hijjah a golden opportunity to increase in acts of worship and good deeds.
